Up north there's Shetland and coming south it is time to visit Wick, Peterhead and Anstruther too. Down the east coast it will pay you to visit Grimsby, Lowestoft and Trues yard. Along the beaches of the south coast call into Faversham, Ramsgate, Hastings, Brighton and Polperro where you will get a warm welcome, or island hop to Guernsey and Jersey. Maybe you're a west coast man, then take your time as you trawl north, visit the north Devon and Lancashire ports and don't forget to drop into the Isle of Man. Last but not least visit the ring-net port of Campbeltown and cross the Clyde to Irvine. If you take a berth at any of these ports you can discover a fascinating insight into our islands' fishing heritage through the doors of our treasured maritime and port museums.
