Castletown Cricket Club Rules
- The club shall be known as
"Castletown Cricket Club" (hereinafter called "the Club")
- The objectives of the Club shall be:-
- to promote the playing of
competitive and recreational cricket for Seniors
- to promote the playing of
cricket by Students and Juniors
- to promote the integration of
Juniors and Students into Senior cricket
- to develop the playing
standards of Junior, Student and Senior cricketers
within the Club
- The Club shall affiliate to the
Governing Body for Cricket in the Isle of Man. Where the
rules of the Club and those of the Governing Body conflict
the rules of the Governing Body shall take precedence.
- The business of the Club shall be run
by an Executive Committee (hereinafter called the Committee)
which shall consist of a Chairman, a Treasurer, a Secretary,
Club Captain (if so elected), Senior Team Captain(s) & Vice
Captains, Isle of Man Cricket Association representative and
up to four other Club Members. The Committee shall have the
power, at any time, to co-opt any person it sees fit to fill
any vacancy that may occur.
- The Club may from time to time be
sponsored and at the discretion of the Committee, the Clubs
teams may include their sponsors names.
- The Annual General Meeting of the
Club shall be held in the month of November. The agenda for
the meeting will be circulated to members at least seven
days prior to the date of the meeting. Only Members of the
club (including Non-playing Members but not including
Vice-Presidents, Students or Juniors) will be allowed to
vote.
- The Annual General meeting shall:-
- appoint the following:-
- a President
- such Vice-Presidents as it
shall decide
- an Auditor
- a Chairman
- a Secretary
- a Treasurer
- a Club Captain (optional)
- Team Captains (both Senior
and Age Group as appropriate)
- Team Vice-Captains (optional
- these may with the agreement of the meeting be
appointed by the individual team Captain(s) with the
Committees approval)
- Isle of Man Cricket Club
Representative.
- Any new Honorary Life Members
(for conspicuous service to the Club).
- Up to 4 Committee members
(the Committee has the power to co-opt members up
the complement of four during the year).
- Receive Audited accounts of
the Club for the year ending 31st
October that year
- Agree the subscriptions for
the following year, which are payable no later than 31st
March following the Annual General Meeting. Any person
who has not paid the appropriate subscription by that
date ceases to be a member.
The categories of membership shall be:
- Member
- Non-Playing Member
- Student
- Junior
- Vice-President
- Honorary Life Member
- An Extraordinary General Meeting of
the Club must be notified to Members in writing seven day in
advance, complete with agenda. Such a meeting may be
convened:-
- By the Committee of the Club
- On receipt by the Chairman of
a request from at least 20% of Members
- The Committee shall meet at least
bimonthly at a date to be agreed. The quorum for a meeting
of the Committee shall be six.
- Discipline
All Members, Students and Juniors are expected to behave in
a manner, which promotes the good name of the Club.
However, the Committee shall be responsible for
investigating any complaint received by a Member or the
Governing Body, or any other matter referred to them. After
such investigation the Committee, being satisfied that
further action should be taken, shall set up a Disciplinary
Committee. In exceptional circumstances, the Committee may
suspend an individual pending the decision of the
Disciplinary Committee. All relevant parties will be
notified seven days in advance.
Should the need arise the President will appoint an Appeals
Committee.
- The Disciplinary Committee
shall consist of at least three people and not more than
five people (these people shall not include the Club
President who will if required chair the Appeals
Committee).
The Disciplinary Committee will decide on one or more of
the following actions:
- Exonerate the individual
- To take no further action
- To reprimand the individual
- To cause the individual to
write an appropriate letter of apology and where
appropriate to pay for any costs/damages - failure
to comply with this request will result in the
individual being subject to 10.1.5 or 10.1.6
- To expel the individual from
the club
- To expel the individual from
the club and write to the Governing Body explaining
the circumstances and requesting that the individual
be banned from a participating in any cricket
organised by the Governing Body
- Any other action it deems fit
- The Appeals Committee shall
consist of three people; the Club President and two
others not previously involved. It will be normal for
one of the Appeals Committee to be a person from outside
the Club who is not otherwise involved in the process.
All relevant parties will be notified seven days in
advance.
The Appeals Committee will decide on one or more of the
following actions
- Uphold the decision of the
Disciplinary Committee
- Uphold the appeal and
exonerate the individual
- Uphold the decision of the
Disciplinary Committee and reduce the sanction in
line with 10.1.2 to 10.1.7 above
- Uphold the decision of the
Disciplinary Committee and increase the sanction in
line with 10.1.3 to 10.1.7 above
- Doping in Cricket is prohibited and
doping is defined as the taking or the use of substances or
participation in doping methods prohibited by the
International Olympic Committee and by International Sports
Federations. In addition assisting or inciting others to
contravene doping regulations is also considered a doping
offence.
The Club agrees to be fully compliant with the provisions
made by the Manx Drugs Agency with regard to both selective
and random sampling of body fluids. All members of the Club
(including Student & Junior) will be subject to the methods
and procedures of testing. Refusal may result in their names
being entered on a list of defaulters, and subsequent
consideration be given jointly with the Manx Drugs Agency as
to the punitive measures.
