10th June 2006

Well yet another TT has come to pass and what a forthnight it was two. Its a very long time since we had weather as good as we have had in that time.. The Big Race of the week was held yesterday and i managed to qualify to race. The Race itself was domminated by John McGuinness and he took the course record to 129.40 mph average for a lap. As for me i had a very uneventfull race and only passed one rider and that was on the last lap otherwise i spent most of the race on my own other than the faster men coming past.

It was a lovely day all be it very warm and i think this affected me some what as i started to feel very soar on the last lap i could barley move my legs but i managed to bring it home yet again so thats 2 finishes from 2 starts. I again finished in 52nd place at an average speed of 107.40 mph and a fastest lap of 109.70mph and that was a 6 lap race.

Their were no incidents during the race as the only yellow flag i came across was for some kiddies balloons low flying at the 33rd milestone which i nearly hit.... Things are already in motion for TT 2007 as it will be the 100th year since the TT Races began so watch this space for updates in the next few months. I would like to thank the following once more for their support Terry for the Bike and the rest of the Gang in no paticular order Greg, wesley, Jan,Jack,Michael,Jac,Shaun, Curly James,Dave,Simon,Graham,Ali and TT Teddy heres looking forward to next year Ride Safe and Free Always Kevin Ago Murphy.

7th June 2006

Hi All,

Today was the day. The Junior TT was delayed for over 2 hours because of low mist on the west side of the course and finally got underway at 12.45 in fantastic conditions if not a little bit hot. I started at No 81 and got off at a steady pace.My first lap was 21mins 4 secs at a speed of 107.40 mph from a standing start and the second was 20mins 55secs at a speed of 108.14mph at the end of the second lap i pitted for fuel and then i was on my way again the third lap was my slowest of the race in 21mins 25secs at a speed of 105.62mph but on the last lap i just got my head down a tried a wee bit harder and it payed off with a lap in 20mins 19secs at a speed of 111.40mph my fastest lap to date and i completed the race in 1hr 23mins 45secs at an average speed of 108.10mph. It was a very uneventfull race for me but i had a good race on the road on the last lap with Bessie.

I will find out tomorrow if im in the Senior on friday or not will update the diary on saturday cheers Irish Ago...

3rd June 2006

Hi All,

Well due to lack of time i didnt get a chance to ride the big one so have been doing my best with the R6 and things have been going great on that front. Its a cracking piece of kit. My fastest lap of the week came on friday night when i went around in 20mins 44secs at an average speed of 109.139mph from a standing start which i was very pleased with. I think their is a little bit more to come in the Race on wednesday and lets see if we can go quick enough to get into the Senior on friday. I havnt been very well due to having the flue for most of the week i just hope i can get rid of it before wednesday as it takes quite a bit out of you racing around here.

But i must not forget the people that have made it all possible for TT 2006 , Terry Austin of Austin Powered Racing for a lovely little R6 Yamaha and the people that get behind me Greg and Wesley at TBI Isle of Man, Jan and the Gang at Corrortherm International Dubai, Dun and John At www.Motorcycle-Junction.co.uk , James and Curley Archway Plastering Isle of Man, Steve at Action Motorcycles, My Brother Jack at Leinster Management Isle of Man, My Friends Jac and Shaun Grace, Harry at Team JH Racing for my website and last but by no means least my crew Dave, Simon, Graham , Ali and of course not forgetting my passanger TT Teddy who love his new perch behind the screen. Without all the above the TT would never have happened thank you one and all for all your support. Will update the diary after the race on wednesday cheers Irish Ago....

But i managed 104mph from a standing start and then my second was a little bit quicker at 106.97mph at the end of my second lap i pulled in to refuel and went out for one last go and from a standing start i managed a lap at 107.98mph just shy of 108mph which i was very happy with.

31st May 2006

Hi All, Well last nights session was held in very sunny conditions but still very windy on the mountain section of the course. Before practice we made a few adjustments to see if we could get the R6 handeling any better and it seems to have worked we lenghtened the wheel base to try and stop it tank slapping ove the fast bumpy parts of the course.

I started with a standing start lap of just over 103 mph and then went around at just over 104 mph but it seems we need to drop a tooth off the back sprocket as it was reaching max revs to quick , So we will sort that out in the morning in readyness for tomorrow nights session and hopefully we will get a qualifying lap in then......

30th May 2006

Hi All, Have just returned from practice tonight and the session was held up for over an hour due to an incident on the the Ballahutchin just after Union Mills which involved two riders they where both airlifted to Hospital by Rescue Helicopter no futher info was released on their condition at this time. We where given one lap of the course and i just got my head down and got on with the job at hand.

Conditions wernt great and their where a few yellow flags displayed on the course due to other incidents so it was rather sedated at 99.56 mph average i was glad to get out for a lap.

I'm getting used to the extra power but its upsetting the handeling quite a bit so i think a few more adjustments are in order before tomorrow nights session. I hope to upload a few photos before the middle of the week all the best Kevin Ago Murphy.

28th May 2006

Hi All , We had our first practice laps for TT 06 last night . It was my first time on the 600 since it has been tuned and to say the least its a very different machine since the one i rode last year. So it looks like i will have learn how to ride it all over again. So lets see to start with we had a very clear night except for Sun glare on the Run to Ballacraine ,very strong winds on the mountain and damp patches here and there. I decided to take it easy from the off as so i could get used to the extra power on tap I had a few moments on the first lap, It shook its head in Kirkmichael and on the run to Ramsey but I decided to get it out of my head and keep my mind on the job. I managed to lap in 23.00.84 on the first lap at a speed of 98.36 mph and on the second I went a wee bit quicker 21.56.92 at a speed of 103.141 which i was very happy with. So a few little adjustments to be made before tomorrow night . TT Teddy has a new perch this year its right behind the screen so he can see it all for himself hope I dont scare him to much. Will update the diary on tuesday after tomorrow nights practice . If anybody has any question about the TT please feel free to e mail me via the site .....Cheers Irish Ago.....
