Master Class
This photo does not do justice to the incredible precision and
craftsmanship performed by Mike Casey in the Isle of Man. The
model, in 5in. gauge, is currently in the workshop ready for a
test run on steam at the MS&MEC track
which is eagerly awaited by club members especially Roger Caple
who was a British Rail driver of this engine class. Mike has
spent the last six years building this model of a Merchant navy
Class engine and every detail is included right down to a working
steam generator! To produce a model of this quality not only
requires very expert skills but also a massive amount of patience
followed by a determination to make every part to the highest
standard. For my part, I can claim credit for assisting Mike in
building the boiler.
