Name & Costume...

  Perree Bane takes it's name from the white collar less jacket worn by the men, perree meaning jacket and bane being white. (The perree is thought to have been an ordinary jacket reversed to show the white lining for special occasions)

  The rest of the men's costume, consists of hat and trousers made from the wool of the unique four horned Manx Loaghtan Sheep!

  Our ladies costume consists of a woollen skirt of the Juan y Clearie's weave, and the beggan ruy (red jacket) emphasising the subtle red stripes in the skirts.

...and a little boasting

  So, where do we do what we do?

  Firstly we practice and learn our dances on  a Sunday evening at Victoria Road School in Castletown 7pm all welcome!
