
Directions: From Ramsey, take the coast road toward Laxey. After the first tram level-crossing, turn left after approx ½ mile (signed to Maughold). Stay on this road for approx. 3miles until you reach Maughold Church (on a sharp right hand bend). There is a narrow rough track that runs up the left hand side of the church which takes you all the way up to the lighthouse/headland.
Car Parking: Small car park and Public Lavs at the area immediately before the church and three ‘rough’ car parks off to the left hand side of the lighthouse access road.
Habitat: High cliffs and stack, steep grassy slopes and grazed farmland.
Year round species: Peregrine, Chough, Raven, Stonechat
Summer Visitors: Puffin, Guillemot, Razorbill, Black Guillemot, Kittiwake, Fulmar
Passage Migrants: Shearwaters, Wheatear, pipits and wagtails, warblers.
Winter Visitors: - None of any significance
Plants/insects/mammals of interest: Brown Hare on the fields, Atlantic Grey Seal and the occasional Harbour Porpoise offshore.
